No, I'm not excited.

Although I am quite a Liberal American on most things, when it comes to family values still waters run deep.

Where I'm from, when shit hits the fan amongst my family, we get our asses home and take care of business together. We take the time to help each other get through the tough times. Family comes first.

And...
That pretty much sums up how I feel about a certain VP choice.

I was really let down.

There was nothing more disappointing when on Wednesday, Sarah Palin spoke at the Republican Convention... and she didn't sound like Karen Walker.

Leave a light on.

A dark cloud looms over this holiday weekend...

Let us all say a prayer for our brothers and sisters in the Gulf Coast.

Think about this:
At the smut-talk-radio station for which I work, we have an internship program. Currently, we have a Bible-thumpin', blond-hair/blue-eyed intern whom we have nicknamed "Horst". He's the most close-minded person I've ever met and has openly said "I hate this station but it was the only internship I could get."
My intern highlight was taping him to a tree after I'd written "I'M JUDGEMENTAL" upon his teeshirt.
Today he came in wearing our station tee-shirt and smiling.
I'm pretty sure hell froze over and we didn't even notice.

Coffee Love

It's 7:27am on this gorgeous Thursday morning... My eyes are bleary but my thoughts are focused: COFFEE. All other thoughts have that morning haze disjointedness.

Man, oh, man I love good coffee. (You can insert your own exclamation point at the end of that sentence; I haven't been awake long enough for exclamation.)

Getting a text late last night "Give me a holler if you want coffee in the morning" made getting up a little easier.

"Holler."

"Come on up."

Oh tasty in the morning.

Because I need a kick-start:

Though I wasn't tagged for my "100 Things", I think it will be a nice kick-start for me to get back to blogging. 100 Things About Me... Let's see how far I get today.

1. I enjoy wearing dresses SO MUCH but if I wore a dress to work, I'd get strange looks and be very very cold.

2. I love to cook. And I'm usually into simple, fresh recipes (and by 'recipes' I mean whatever I come up with that sounds good to me!).

3. Reading is one of my favorite things to do.

4. Radio is a passion I can barely describe. There are so many reasons I love Radio and for lack of anything else "When all else fails, there is radio." Call it an escape, a form of entertainment, a medium for information, a commonality... I love radio. From listening to Mom's choice of country music in the big blue station wagon, to getting ready for church while listening to Casey count 'em down, to loving the variety show of crazies with whom I work, I love it all.

5. I think I'm funny!

6. My friends are absolutely amazing. The people I have kept near and dear continue to inspire me with their creativity and beauty.

7. The Goonies and The Princess Bride are my favorite movies.

8. I thought I was addicted to IM'ing until I gave up internet at home. Then I thought I was really addicted to texting until I moved into an apartment where my cell phone doesn't get reception. Without the capabilities of either while I am at home, I am much more peaceful... well, until the moment I really really really want to text somebody "Dude! I just caught my apron on fire when I was cooking dinner!"

9. I'd rather not have television. (I live with my Aunt Jane who has a large tv AND cable.) It's crack. Crack is whack.

10. My dad is crazy, but I love him anyhow!

11. I think my prettiest feature (aside from my sunny disposition) would be my boobs.

12. I think my worst feature (aside from my temper) is my, well, everything from the waist down. (vagina excepted because I'm certain that is great even though out of practice hahahahahhaaa)

13. Although I don't believe in "regret" --it's just wasted time-- I wonder and worry where my choices will lead me.

14. Even clowns cry!

15. Just the thought of TOMATOES makes me smile.

16. My nose is super sensitive. I have a wonderful sense of smell; a blessing and a curse.

17. I really love beer.

18. And wine.

19. I have changed for people and never liked the person I became. I'm pretty great as Me.

20. I wish I was two inches taller. It would make pants so much easier.

A Phoenix with a Cape

From the blogging ashes I rise! I used to blog daily and kept it up for a couple of years... until some things in my life pushed me towards a more anonymous way of life. There is certainly something to be said for anonymity.

This is my new blog, and this time I'm keeping it a secret from my friends and family. I will probably re-acquaint myself with DCBlogs because I do still enjoy readers. Y'know, but I'd prefer the kinds of readers I won't see out at the bar (or down the hall, or at Thanksgiving).

So here we go again!

I've got lots to catch you up on... including a long-term hair-brained scheme I've hatched and have been working on for a couple months now.
Woot!
